Who I am is not important, but I can tell you where to search for more death panel cases. Look at the hospice program. Follow the trails of how people got on the lists. The journey they took. The stress and frustration of dealing with bureaucracy. The delay of services month after months. IF you have cancer the last thing you want to hear is Im sorry; Ill call you when I get to your case, in 6 months? Time vs Cancer, cancer wins. Bureaucracy = No accountability! Your health. Death panel?
Too old to marry, too young to bury. This statement was made by a dying grandmother. She applied for govt. healthcare in Feb 09. Her case got delayed until Dec 09. She received hospice care in Dec 09 and suddenly her govt. healthcare got approved. You see, its cheaper to pay for hospice care than to pay for treatments of cancer. Furthermore once she received hospice care, all other treatment halted.
Govt. rationing + delay service = silence killer.

Why should anyone make a profit on anything? Take food for example. Food is certainly a human right if healthcare is. Without food you wouldn’t even need healthcare, you would just be taking a dirt nap.
Look at all the unnecessary profits associated with food. The farmer lives pretty good on the profits he makes. The corporations that own the trucking and warehousing and food processing and processing and packaging and advertising and retail outlets are all making a profit. Is this fair?
The people who are best off are the people working for the government. They haven’t been asked to share in the economic turmoil the rest of us are enduring. Yes, because they have contracts with cities and municipalities that they won’t rescind or lessen, even if it drives those institutions into bankruptcy, a la Seattle, New York, all of California… Likewise, because they can’t fire people who underperform at their jobs, underperformance that practically takes effort even in the private sector.

@Toddinfantry It concerns me because issues which affect other people are of concern to me, also I am a medical student so I know how the “socialised” healthcare system works in the UK. I don’t understand why you think that having healthcare from the state means restriction of freedom. If we want to see change in our healthcare we vote for it, as it is the NHS is more than 60 years old and is a cherished institution. Regulation of care happens whether it’s private or state-run, same difference.

Well i’m certainly not a blind and deaf idiot for “change”- because I live somewhere that decided 60 years ago that every citizen deserves the right to equal access to healthcare. I can’t say I know what the funding policy is for Obama’s plan is but I can assure you the richest pay the most tax here (UK) so the poorest can get the care they need.
